AA Requirements

  • GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES

The Collegiate High School program allows students to customize their AA degree program to prepare for transfer into a Baccalaureate degree major at a university or college. The university-transfer AA degree requires completion of 60 credit hours. Within the 60 credit hours, students must complete 36 credit hours of general education courses within the five subject areas of Communications, Mathematics, Natural Science, Humanities and Behavioral/Social Sciences.

    ELECTIVES

The remaining 24 credit hours of the AA Degree are electives. Students must select courses that also fulfill the coursework (program prerequisites) required for entry into their intended university major. It is the student’s responsibility to identify these courses by contacting the college or university where he/she plans to transfer upon completion of the AA degree. EFSC advisors can also provide information regarding the prerequisites needed for selected Baccalaureate degree majors.

    (1) Achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in all college work attempted.
    (2) Receive a “C” or higher in each Gordon Rule course taken to fulfill the AA Degree general education requirement.
