The Professional Development Certification Program is designed to develop quality teachers for the students of Brevard. PDCP, is a competency-based, job embedded educator preparation program preparing teachers to meet the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices. PDCP offers face to face, hybrid, and distance learning opportunities for the professional educator. PDCP is an alternative path for those coming into the profession on a temporary teaching certificate. Program participants complete a job embedded portfolio, take inservice courses designed to support their instructional practices, and work toward passing their professional certification exam. We serve all K-12 classroom teachers. Candidates can enter PDCP in September and January, once they have met the initial eligiblity requirements.
Steps to applying for PDCP
REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY CLOSED AND WILL RE-OPEN IN THE SUMMER.
Step 2- At the completion of the video, email Lynnette Thorstensen with any questions (Lynnette's email)
Step 3 - Once you've decided to join the program, print the PAYROLL DEDUCTION FORM and send a copy of your GK scores, along with the payroll deduction form, via school courier, to Lynnette Thorstensen, ESF-PL&D.
Step 4 - Complete the PDCP Spring 2019 Cohort APPLICATION
The last day to apply for the spring cohort was January 11, 2019. The summer co-hort will begin after May 1, 2019. The new application will open on April 15, 2019. Kick off materials and the kick off orientation video will be sent directly to those accepted to the program.
