The Professional Development Certification Program (PDCP) is designed to develop quality teachers for the students of Brevard. PDCP, is a competency-based, job-embedded educator preparation program preparing teachers to meet the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices. PDCP offers face-to-face, hybrid, and distance learning opportunities for the professional educator. PDCP is an alternative path for those coming into the profession on a temporary teaching certificate and needing at least 12 hours of coursework, according to their Statement of Eligibility. Teachers have several ways to meet the requirements to obtain their professional certification. It all starts with looking at the Statement of Eligibility sent by the DOE when the temporary certificate is issued. Candidates can apply for PDCP during open enrollment periods once they have met the initial eligibility requirements. The cost for Charter School Teachers to enroll in PDCP is $1,200. For more information refer to PDCP Webpage.
