• Parents & Students,

Welcome to my desk!  My name is Rebecca Kamlet and I am the Literacy Coach here at SHS.  This is my 4th year working for SHS (last year I was the coach @ Gemini Elementary but I missed my SCORPS too much!), and I absolutely love working with teachers and students. Each week (unless I don't have something to share) I will be adding resources and information to this page.  My goal is to share anything from student tips & strategies, to events, contests, study skills, etc., that are related to LITERACY.  Please email me, Kamlet.Rebecca@Brevardschools.org , with ANY suggestions or questions you or your student might have.  I look forward to working with you all again!

I hope you and your family had a great first full week of school!  As we navigate through the 23-24 school year, I will be providing different resources for you as parents, as well as for your students.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or suggestions you might have and, if you would like more information about that I can provide.  After this week I will provide a link to our SHS website where ALL this information will be organized under the Parents & Students Tab- From the Desk of your SHS Literacy Coach

For the start of this school year, I would like to focus on the HOW and WHY of student note taking.  Note taking is like an art that needs to be practiced and explored to best fit the style of individual student learning styles and content.  Explore the importance of note taking below…
