    STEP 1 - BEACON Application

    Complete & submit your BEACON online application.  Link to BEACON

    1. List your last 10 years of work and/or volunteer history with names of supervisors.
      Please account for all time gaps in your work/volunteer history.
    2. Request references from supervisors listed in your work/volunteer history.
    3. Order official college transcripts with degree posted through your college/school website.

    STEP 2 - Interview 

    Interviews are completed via the website EasyHire.  Please click on the link below from your smartphone or computer and create an applicant account.  A functioning camera and microphone are required to complete the interview.  The process will last approximately 20 minutes and you will be allowed one attempt to complete all required sections.

    Upon completion of your interview, Human Resources will contact you via email with further information. 

    STEP 3 - Forms

    All of the following forms & documents must be completed and turned in as a complete package to Human Resources.

    Please print and sign all forms.  Forms are also available in Human Resources at the School Board building located in Viera.

    1. Application for a District-Issued Substitute Certificate with a check or money order for $25.00 payable to Brevard Public Schools OR a copy or a valid, current Florida Teaching Certificate (a Florida Statement of Eligibility is NOT a certificate)
    2. Bring an ORIGINAL, signed Social Security Card
    3. Bring a valid Florida Driver's License or a valid Out of State driver's license WITH a current Military ID.

    5. List of Acceptable Documents
    6. W-4 (external link to IRS)
    7. Direct Deposit Form - please bring a VOIDED blank check or a Direct Deposit Authorization form from your bank

    10. Internet Acceptable Use Agreement Form
    11. Retirement Form
    12. Loyalty Oath - Notaries are provided upon your visit to Human Resources
    13. Letter of Reasonable Assurance for BPS Substitutes
    14. If you are a currently retired teacher, please provide proof of retirement.

    Please bring all completed forms with you to the Human Resources office.

    STEP 4 - Drug Screening

    The fee for drug screening may be paid with a debit/credit card, personal check, or money order for $36.00 made payable to Brevard Public Schools. 

    The drug screening is time sensitive and must be completed within 24 hours.

    Human Resources is open for drug screening from 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Thursday

    STEP 5 - Fingerprinting

    All new applicants must be fingerprinted at the Office of District and School Security.  Please bring debit/credit card to pay the amount of $41.00 for processing.

    District Security is open for fingerprinting from 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday.

    The BPS Substitute Office may take up to 10 business days from the receipt of the complete substitute package for processing.
