    Mission Statement

  • Satellite High School (SHS), located in Satellite Beach, sits on the east coast of central Florida. Our beachside community consists of approximately 11,000 residents. The school serves Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Patrick Space Force Base, the southern tip of Merritt Island, and the unincorporated area of South Patrick Shores. Satellite HS is one of the 17 comprehensive senior high schools in Brevard County. Nationally, Brevard Public Schools is the 66th largest district and is recognized as a state and national leader in academic excellence. Brevard County is the tenth-largest county in population in the state. Our community continues to grow due to Kennedy Space Center, Port Canaveral, Patrick Space Force Base, and numerous electronic and other high technology industries in the area.

Satellite High School opened in the Fall of 1962 and graduated its first senior class in the Spring of 1963. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Satellite High School is one of the most outstanding high schools in Brevard County. SHS houses grades nine through twelve.

Satellite High is part of the Florida High School Athletic Association and competes in the Cape Coast Conference located in Brevard County, Florida.

Satellite has captured 17 state championships across six FHSAA sports since opening, with the Lady Scorps holding 13 of the state championships for FHSAA sports!
