  • Teacher Path to Leadership - Educators interested in leadership opportunities should begin by participating in Clinical Educator Training. Upon completion of CET, participants can mentor new teachers and/or supervise college interns. CET is offered each semester and in the summer. Information and the application is sent through the Leadership Team Packet to all principals.  Interested educators will complete the application and forward to their administrator for approval. Return the application to Linda Buffum, Office of Professional Learning & Development. Once the application has been reviewed and accepted, participants will be registered, and a confirmation email will be sent.

  • Instructional Performance Video Library

    These videos can be used to support school based mentors.   These videos represent some of the most challenging elements of the IPPAS and can be used as a discussion springboard and/or model for working with mentees.

  • Teacher Leadership Academy 

    The Teacher Leadership Academy is designed to prepare educators to become effective leaders in their schools, at the district level, and within their communities. Through professional development, collaboration, and job embedded experiences, participants will acquire knowledge to expand their leadership potential to create stronger learning communities.

    Target Group: Teacher Leaders, School Counselors, and District Instructional Leaders

    Minimum Requirements

    • Three years of effective teaching experience
    • Currently employed with BPS or a charter school located within Brevard County
    • Completed the Florida Clinical Educator Training (CET)

    Information and the Google registration link will be sent through the Leadership Team Packet on August 23. Trainings will be held virtually one evening a month from 5-7pm.

  • Teacher Leadership PD Offerings

    Collaborative Leadership - Three day training designed to teach leaders practical skills and tools to empower others to work and problem solve together to achieve common goals. Dimensions highlighted include: purpose driven-leader, effective communication, planning and facilitating meetings, creating a positive culture, and celebrating successes. 

    Seven Habits of Highly Effective People - Offered second semester for school based personnel. 

    Difficult Conversations - Offered second semester to any mentor teacher

    Clinical Educator Training - Training for teacher leaders interested in working with college interns and beginning teachers.
