Mission: To serve every student with excellence as the standard

We believe that children of every ability level should be given opportunities to stretch their learning as far as they can take it.

Our enrichment program is designed to encourage divergent and critical thinking that will reach beyond the classroom and span different topics and subject areas.

We hope that you will share our enthusiasm for these activities with your child throughout the school year!

Spessard L. Holland Elementary School strives to provide enriched learning experiences and higher learning standards for all levels of learners through three goals:

    • developing talents in all students
    • providing a broad range of advanced-level enrichment experiences for all students
    • providing advanced follow-up opportunities for children based on their strengths and interests

    Why is Enrichment Important?

Enrichment promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, improves a student's ability to concentrate, and makes learning more meaningful, valuable, and rewarding.

Enrichment activities are fun, which helps students to become more engaged in their learning and retain more information.  These are the experiences that children will remember throughout their lives!!

"As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has - or ever will have - something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression." – Mr. Rogers
