Ms. Lorri Benjamin

I am pleased to be the new Director of Adult and Community Education for Brevard Public Schools. This is my 10th year with Brevard Public Schools and I have been afforded the opportunity to work in many different roles in the organization that led me here. I began my career in Brevard as an academic coach in the area of mathematics. I was a coordinator for one of our high school’s magnetic program focusing on STEAM education and from their I have worked as an administrator in both middle and High School. Previous to these experiences I taught Pre-k- 6th grade in Syracuse, New York.

I currently live on Merritt island with my dog, Rocky. My parents also reside in the area. My son is a graduate of BPS and is currently studying Jazz at Florida State University. My daughter is living in the Central Florida area where she manages a restaurant and is raising my 1year old granddaughter. I love to travel and experience new places and their culture.

I bring my belief and passion for equity in education and giving back to the community. Adult and Community Education will continue to grow as a place where adult learners can continue or restart their formal education and acquire skill sets that will focus on their individual success and career readiness. We will continue to explore are CTE programs and our relationships with our business partners. Brevard Adult Education will also continue to grow are community classes with an inquiry and interest platform that will focus on enhancing the lives of those currently living in our community.
