    Principal A. McDonough

Dear Oak Park Families and Community Partners,
It is with great enthusiasm I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Oak Park Elementary. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve such a dedicated, hard working staff. I feel very fortunate to join the Eagle team! I look forward to getting to know all of the families, meeting and learning the names of every student and introducing myself to community partners.
I have dedicated the last twenty-six years as a Brevard educator. The majority of my years have been spent in Title I schools, with the mission that every student has potential and is a learner. I have worked in many aspects of a school. My experience as a teacher was in both primary and intermediate grades. I spent several years as a Literacy Coach and as a Title I coordinator. I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to the work ahead.
On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Paul, for twenty-four years. Paul and I have been blessed with two beautiful children. Sydney is eighteen years old and is a freshman at FSU. Our son, Luke, just turned sixteen and recently has started driving. Luke plays baseball for Viera Hawks and is on two travel ball teams. Luke's baseball schedule keeps us busy! Two summers ago, Luke's Little League team made it to the Junior World Series in Taylor, Michigan. Paul and I spent two weeks traveling around the country watching Luke play first base. His Southeast team made it to the United States final game but lost to California. California ended up winning in the championship game to Puerto Rico. It was an exciting summer that we will always have fun talking about. It was the first time in twenty-six years I missed the first day of school. I am so glad I did because I have memories for a life time.
I look forward to serving the Oak Park students and community. My goal is to build strong relationships and continue my mission of finding a way to show that every student has POTENTIAL and is a LEARNER!

    Title IX Equity Contact

AP Holly Walker    I am a wife and mother of three amazing children, two sons and a daughter.  I also love dogs and have three. My family moved to Brevard County in 2008 and we have loved every minute of being here.

I graduated from UCF with a bachelors in Elementary Education and a minor in Exceptional Student Education.  In 2019 I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a masters in Educational Leadership.  I taught 3rd grade at Challenger 7 and taught 4th grade Fairglen Elementary.  For the past two years I have been the Title I coordinator and family engagement contact for Fairglen.

I strongly believe that all students can be successful.  It is our job as educators to figure out what tools each student needs to reach that success.  I also believe that social emotional growth is a cornerstone for academic success.  When students believe in themselves they can achieve anything.  I believe that in order to meet the many unique needs of our students we have to function as a team.  With team work and determination, our staff will be able to overcome any obstacle.
