Mr. Sherburne
I am proud to be the Principal of Longleaf Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such rich traditions! I have been dedicated to the field of education for 18 years. I have worked with a variety of students ranging in age from Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth grade. My other administrative experiences were at Lockmar Elementary School and Port Malabar Elementary School where I served as the Assistant Principal. My career began at Westside Elementary School in 2005 as a Sixth-grade teacher.
I have been married for 19 years to my wife, Nicole Sherburne, who is a 5th-grade Science Coach at Dr. W.J. Creel Elementary School. We are proud parents of two young men, Logan and Evan, who also attend Brevard Public Schools. As a family we enjoy sports and the outdoors. I am an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoy spending time with my boys and passing on traditions.
Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by Longleaf Elementary by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on character education initiatives, the use of data to drive instruction, and to provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase student achievement. I look forward to working with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.
Mr. Jason Sherburne, Principal
