Safety patrols consist of 5th and 6th grade students who are willing to come to school early or stay late to fulfill their post duties. Interested students are selected with input from teachers, administrators, and patrol sponsors. Consideration is based on student interest, commitment, sense of responsibility, and attitude toward others. The goal of the safety patrol is to allow its members to explore and develop leadership skills such as responsibility, dependability, assertiveness, and cooperation. Therefore, safety patrols must be dependable, trustworthy, and display our CARE expectations as they are role models for other students. Safety patrols assist the adults on campus with morning arrival and afternoon departure of students. Morning posts require arrival at 7:25 AM (no earlier) and afternoon posts require students to be able to stay as late as 2:45 PM.
