Jefferson Leadership – Wildcats in Action

  • Sponsor: Guidance
    Meetings: TBA

  • West Shore Jr./Sr. High School has been selected as an official Jefferson Awards Leadership School. We are honored to join this national movement as we strive to strengthen our school’s culture of volunteerism and develop the leadership skills of our students through service.

Faculty, students, or parents may nominate a student to recognize their leadership and volunteering. Nomination forms may also be given to community agencies to nominate students who have volunteered for them. A nomination form needs to be completed and turned in to the Guidance Dept. Nominations may be made at any time and all nominations will be kept on file and considered for the remainder of the school year.

There are two criteria for selection –

    1. What impact has their action made on either a local or global level?

    2. Leadership - have they motivated you to volunteer and get involved - either by their words or their actions?

Ask yourself, “Who has done something remarkable this month to serve others? Who inspires me to make a difference?”

You may submit as many nominations per month as you would like. Nominations not chosen will be held for future month’s consideration. You may nominate at any time. Winners will be chosen after the dates below and winners notified the following week.

Selection committee consists of previous award recipients as well as guidance counselors.
