Leave of Absence Information

  • At some point in your career, you may be faced with a personal or family illness or other life event that requires you to be away from work for an extended period of time. The Brevard Public Schools’ Leave Team is available to assist you in managing the leave you need to handle these life events and to ensure a smooth transition back to your role within Brevard Public Schools. 

    As soon as you are aware of a need for a leave, please contact your secretary or site coordinator to assist you with the leave process. You will find information and forms related to leave of absence requests on this site. 

    The following information will provide an overview of the Leave of Absence process. Please review the Employee Leave of Absence Procedures for answers to your specific leave type and the steps required to initiate your leave of absence request.   

    Please remember when you go on a leave of absence and are no longer receiving a paycheck, you MUST make arrangements with Brevard County School Board, Office of Employee Benefits at 321-633-1000, ext 11263, in order to keep your benefit coverage active.
