Now that young adults in Florida aged 16 years and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine we fully realize and support our West Shore families/students to participating in the immunization process.
With this in mind, and the anticipated reported temporary side effects that may cause students to miss school, we want to be sure to work through this process to minimize loss of school time. We wish to continue to stress to you the importance of maintaining good school attendance whether your child is a brick & mortar student or an eLearner. We respectfully request that you try to make these appointments during non-school hours; however, we realize that unfortunately the timing of the vaccine appointments, due to the computerized systems, may not allow you to do so.
Looking ahead and in the spirit of proactivity we have put some procedures in place that should be of some help as we work through this critical time together. If your student will need to check-out early or check-in late because of the vaccine appointment, please present a copy of your appointment print out to Mrs. Morin in the Attendance Office so that we can excuse any absences that your student may accrue from the early check-out or late check-in process.
Additionally, please note that should your child become ill after the 2nd vaccine, and will be missing school as a result, please call Mrs. Morin in the Attendance Office so that she may document your student’s absence accordingly.
I wish to, once again, thank our Wildcat families for your patience and understanding as we continue to develop and adapt to changing COVID and Vaccine related issues.
