Summer Driver Education Opportunities

From Brevard Schools:

We are pleased to announce that Brevard Public Schools will be offering Summer Driver Education in June and July. The course is open to any currently enrolled BPS student who has or will have their Learner’s License/permit by the first day of summer session. For safety related to COVID-19 our Summer 2021 Driver Ed program will be a hybrid model of in-person classroom, in-person behind the wheel, and supported eLearning instruction. Students will attend in-person class for three hours each day through a 9 day course. They will receive classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel instruction and driving practice on our driving ranges. Students will be expected to complete an additional 20 hours of classwork at home plus driving practice hours. School sites offering Summer Driver Ed are: Astronaut HS, Cocoa beach Jr/Sr, Cocoa HS, Eau Gallie HS, Edgewood Jr/Sr, Heritage HS, Melbourne HS, Palm Bay Magnet HS and Viera HS. Parents can register their student for any site, however they may only register for one site. If they are waitlisted at their first choice, they can then contact other sites for available seats.

Attached are fliers with additional information including session dates and times, cost and registration information. Scholarships are available.

All information as well as a link for scholarship applications are available on the Driver Ed Website-
