Community Invited to BPS' District Level School Health Advisory Council Meeting

Viera, FL ---The Brevard Public Schools’ district level School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) will host its next quarterly meeting scheduled to be held on September 6, 2023 at the School Board Building at 2700 Judge Fran Jamieson Way from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Lab 712. 

SHAC consists of district staff members who represent: Nutrition Services; Health Promotion for Staff; Physical Education; Family & Community Involvement; Counseling, Psychological, and Social Services; Healthy School Environment; School Health Education; and Health Services along with representatives from the School Board, the community, students and parents. The mission of SHAC is to promote optimal health within our school-community.

Meetings are held four times a year to provide an opportunity for collaborative work in creating a healthy school environment combined with community support, to enhance learning and encourage the development of lifelong wellness practices—for all students, staff, and the community. We value and seek input from the public.
